Preceptors
Ashley Richards, Pharm.D.
Ashley Richards, Pharm.D., is a clinical specialist in Bone Marrow Transplantation at Shands at the University of Florida.
Dr. Richards received her Pharm.D. from the University of Florida College of Pharmacy in 2007, then completed a Pharmacy Practice Residency at Shands Jacksonville in 2008. She then completed an Oncology Specialty Pharmacy Residency at the University of Washington Medical Center/Seattle Cancer Care Alliance in Seattle, Washington. Dr. Richards previously completed summer internships at both Walgreens and Shands Jacksonville. Her areas of interest are leukemia and bone marrow transplant, as well as sarcoma. Dr. Richards is also a clinical assistant professor of the University of Florida College of Pharmacy and preceptor for pharmacy students and residents.
Edmund Walden, Pharm.D., BCOP
Edmund Walden, Pharm.D., BCOP, is currently a clinical specialist in adult hematology/oncology at Shands at the University of Florida and clinical assistant professor of the College of Pharmacy at the University of Florida.
Dr. Walden received his B.S. in Chemistry, B.S. in Pharmacy and Pharm.D. degrees from the University of Florida and has been board-certified in oncology pharmacy since 1998. His past experience includes staff pharmacist positions at the Durham, North Carolina VAMC and Gainesville VAMC, as well as the Clinical Oncology Pharmacist position at the Gainesville VAMC from 1994 through 2008. He is currently chairman of the Shands Chemotherapy Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) Committee.
Laura E. Wiggins, Pharm.D., BCOP
Laura Wiggins, Pharm.D., is a clinical specialist in Bone Marrow Transplantation at Shands at the University of Florida and clinical assistant professor of the University of Florida College of Pharmacy.
Dr. Wiggins received her Pharm.D. degree from the University of Florida in 1989. She then completed a clinical pharmacy residency at Erie County Medical Center in Buffalo, New York, followed by an Oncology Pharmacy Residency at the Johns Hopkins Oncology Center in Baltimore, Maryland. She spent six years as a clinical specialist in Bone Marrow Transplantation at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, where she was also an assistant professor at the University of Pittsburgh School of Pharmacy. Before joining Shands, she practiced for three years as an oncology clinical pharmacist at Good Samaritan Medical Center in West Palm Beach, Florida. Her areas of interest include the management of leukemias and lymphomas, as well as bone marrow transplantation.
