Preceptors
Larry Lopez Pharm.D., FCCP, BCPS
Larry M. Lopez, Pharm.D., is Professor of Pharmacy and Medicine and Associate Chair of Pharmacy Practice at the University of Florida College of Pharmacy. He joined the faculty in September 1979 after earning his Pharm.D. and after working as a community and hospital pharmacist for nearly 10 years. He received his Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from the University of Florida in 1969. Dr. Lopez is currently responsible for teaching various topics in pharmacology and pharmacotherapy and serves as a guest lecturer for the Colleges of Medicine, Nursing, and Public Health and Health Professions. He also maintains a clinical practice site in Internal Medicine/Cardiology and is Co-Director of the Outpatient Anticoagulation Service.
Joseph Shultz, Pharm.D.
Joseph Shultz, Pharm.D., is currently a staff pharmacist and Clinical Assistant Professor for the College of Pharmacy at the University of Florida. He is a graduate of the University of Florida College of Pharmacy class of 2002. After graduation, he spent six years pursuing an interest in nuclear pharmacy. A desire to practice as a hospital pharmacist brought him back to Shands at UF, where he worked as a staff pharmacist for two years prior to completing a pharmacy practice residency from 2010-2011. His interests include cardiology, infectious disease and diabetes.
