Sam Borgert
Sam Borgert is an infectious disease / stewardship pharmacist at Shands UF. His primary clinical activities involve implementation of the Anti-infective Management Program at Shands. Previous roles he has held at Shands include Anti-infective Stewardship pharmacist at Shands AGH, the director of pharmacy for Shands Community Hospitals, pharmacist liaison to the Florida Recovery Center and PC-1 pharmacist at Shands UF. Sam received his B.S. from Purdue University. He is student in the non-traditional Pharm.D. program at the University of Colorado Denver.
Ken Klinker, Pharm.D.
Ken Klinker, Pharm.D., is a pharmacy specialist in infectious diseases at Shands at the University of Florida. He is a co-director of the Antimicrobial Management Program and serves as secretary for the Anti-infective Subcommittee. He is also a clinical assistant professor at the University of Florida College of Pharmacy and serves as the director of the Infectious Diseases Residency Program.
Dr. Klinker received his Pharm.D. from the University of Maryland School of Pharmacy. He completed his pharmacy practice residency and specialty residency in internal medicine at Shands at the University of Florida. Following completion of his residency training, he spent five years providing care to critically ill patients in the Medical Intensive Care Unit at Shands and in 2003 transitioned to infectious diseases to participate in the development of an Antimicrobial Management Program. His interests include infectious diseases and training pharmacists on how to develop an effective Antimicrobial Management Program.
Dr. Klinker is a past president of the North Central Florida Society of Health Systems Pharmacists (NCFSHP), has served as a member of the board of directors for the Florida Society of Health Systems Pharmacists and remains active in NCFSHP.
