Preceptors
Thomas Johns, Pharm.D., BCPS
Thomas Johns, Pharm.D., is presently an assistant director of pharmacy services at Shands at the University of Florida and clinical assistant professor of the University of Florida College of Pharmacy.
Dr. Johns received his Pharm.D. from the University of Florida, followed by an ASHP-accredited specialty residency in adult internal medicine at the VA Medical Center in Gainesville, Florida.
Dr. Johns is board-certified in pharmacotherapy. Dr. Johns is a past president of the Florida Society of Health-System Pharmacists.
Amy F. Rosenberg, Pharm.D., BCPS
Amy F. Rosenberg, Pharm.D. is a pharmacy specialist in medication safety and quality at the University of Florida. She also continues to serve as the pharmacist liaison with the solid organ transplant programs. She is also a clinical assistant professor at the University of Florida College of Pharmacy and co-director of Shands’ PGY1 Residency program.
Dr. Rosenberg received her Pharm.D. from the University of Florida College of Pharmacy. She completed her Pharmacy Practice residency and specialty residency in organ transplantation at the University of North Carolina Hospital and served as clinical instructor at the University of North Carolina School of Pharmacy. Dr Rosenberg is board-certified in pharmacotherapy, and her interests include pharmacy residency training and implementation of systems that enhance medication safety and quality for all patients. Dr. Rosenberg is a past president of the North Central Florida Society of Health Systems Pharmacists (NCFSHP), has served on the education council for the Florida Society of Health Systems Pharmacists and remains active in NCFSHP.
Lisa M. Taylor, Pharm.D., BCPS
Lisa M. Taylor, Pharm.D., is a pharmacy specialist in pediatrics specializing in medication safety and quality improvement at Shands at the University of Florida, clinical assistant professor of the University of Florida College of Pharmacy, current co-director of the PGY-1 Pharmacy Practice Residency and the current director of the PGY-2 Pediatric Pharmacy Practice Residency program at Shands UF.
Dr. Taylor received her Pharm.D. from the University of Florida College of Pharmacy in 2004. She completed her Pharmacy Practice residency and specialty residency in pediatrics at the University of Kentucky Chandler Medical Center. Dr. Taylor is board-certified in pharmacotherapy, and her interests include pediatric medication safety and pediatric critical care/infectious diseases.
Dr. Taylor is currently the secretary of the North Central Florida Society of Health-Systems Pharmacists (NCFSHP).
Ben Staley, Pharm.D., BCPS
Ben Staley, Pharm.D., BCPS, is a clinical specialist in quality improvement and accreditation. He received his Pharm.D. degree from the University of Florida and completed his PGY-1 Pharmacy Practice residency at the University of Colorado Hospital and his PGY-2 specialty residency in infectious diseases at Shands Hospital at the University of Florida. His interests include anti-infective stewardship, patient safety and quality initiatives and use of information technology to improve clinical processes.
